National Teachers Month 2025 Officially

Daftarsbmptn.com – The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) officially opened the 2025 National Teachers’ Month celebrations with a launch event held at State Special Needs School (SLBN) 1 and SLBA Pembina on Friday, October 31, 2025.

This initiative symbolizes the government’s deep appreciation for the dedication and invaluable contributions of teachers and education personnel throughout Indonesia.

Furthermore, this launch underscores the Ministry’s strong commitment to realizing an inclusive, adaptive, and competitive education system in the rapidly evolving digital era.

The selection of SLB as the launch location for this year’s National Teachers’ Month holds special significance. It clearly reflects the government’s serious attention to the implementation of inclusive education, especially for teachers and students with special needs.

This initiative aligns with the spirit of providing equal opportunities for all children of the nation to receive a quality education, without exception.

In his remarks, the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul M’uti, emphasized that the role of teachers goes far beyond simply being agents of learning. He believes that teachers are key agents in the development of the nation’s civilization.

“Teachers are not merely agents of learning, but rather agents in building civilization. A teacher’s duties are not limited to teaching in the classroom or merely fulfilling administrative duties, because the true nobility of a teacher lies in their sincerity in providing educational services,” Abdul M’uti stated enthusiastically.

A similar statement was made by the Deputy Chairperson of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Himatul Aliyah, who also attended the launch. She expressed her appreciation to the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education for the initiative to hold National Teachers’ Month 2025.

According to her, this momentum is not merely ceremonial, but also serves as a powerful reminder of the dedication and devotion of teachers as unsung heroes.

“Teachers not only impart knowledge, but also serve as navigators for our students,” Himatul Aliyah stated.

The Director General of Teachers and Education Personnel and Teacher Education (Dirjen GTKPG), Nunuk Suryani, added that the National Teachers’ Month celebrations will be enlivened by a series of activities spanning the entire month.

These activities aim to express the highest appreciation to all teachers and education personnel in Indonesia for their services in educating the nation. The series of activities will be held at various Technical Implementation Units (UPT) and education offices throughout Indonesia.

Furthermore, the Director General of GTKPG also announced that there will be a campaign titled

“Thank You, My Teacher.”

Through this campaign, students who have experienced the best service from their teachers can express their gratitude through various social media platforms and other learning media.

This campaign is expected to provide a platform for students to express their respect and appreciation for the teachers who have contributed to shaping their character and future.

“We hope that this Teachers’ Month celebration will be a momentum to strengthen the enthusiasm and collaboration of educators, as well as foster a sense of pride in the teaching profession, which encourages the creation of a higher-quality education ecosystem, so that we can realize quality education for all,” said Director General Nunuk optimistically.

The National Teachers’ Day celebration will begin with an official ceremony attended by all education professionals across Indonesia.

Following this, the culmination of the National Teachers’ Month event will feature various exciting activities, including the presentation of awards and honors to individuals who have demonstrated innovation and outstanding contributions to improving the quality of education in Indonesia.

These awards are expected to motivate teachers and education personnel to continue innovating and providing their best for the world of education.

“We hope that with the theme ‘Great Teachers, Strong Indonesia,’ our teachings can unite our efforts and provide quality education for all throughout the country,” concluded Nunuk.

This theme carries a profound meaning: quality teachers will produce a great next generation, ultimately leading Indonesia to become a strong and advanced nation.

The Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education, through the Directorate General of Teachers’ and Teacher Training and Education (GTKPG), invites all parties, including local governments, schools, teachers, students, parents, and the wider community, to participate in celebrating National Teachers’ Month by engaging in various inspiring activities to realize Quality Education for All.
