Not because of his latest drama project, but because of his touching social action: helping to build an Early Childhood Education (PAUD) facility in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). This humanitarian action went viral on social media in mid-April 2026. In several videos circulating, Ji Chang Wook greets PAUD children in Kupang and expresses his hope that they can learn more comfortably in a suitable environment.
This PAUD construction program is part of a social campaign titled “One Bite One Dream,” which involves a collaboration between snack brand Happytos and social organizations such as Happy Hearts Indonesia. Through this program, funds are collected from community participation, including the purchase of special edition products, and then distributed to the construction of educational facilities.
The main focus of this program is the construction of two PAUD facilities in Kupang: PAUD Cahaya Timur and PAUD Karmel. Both schools were designed with an environmentally friendly concept and equipped with more appropriate facilities, such as modern classrooms, play areas, and adequate learning equipment.
The presence of these new facilities brings great hope to the local community. Previously, the condition of early childhood education in the area was quite concerning. The Cahaya Timur PAUD, for example, has been operating since 2015 and serves dozens of children annually, but with limited facilities and support.
Even more concerning, the teachers there are known to receive very low salaries, ranging from Rp 100,000 to Rp 250,000 per month. This situation reflects the significant challenges facing the education sector in remote areas, particularly in eastern Indonesia.
In a statement, Ji Chang Wook expressed that his involvement in this project was a way of giving back to the Indonesian people who have supported his career. He also emphasized that education is the main foundation for creating a better future.
He hopes that through the construction of this PAUD facility, children in remote areas will have equal opportunities to dream and achieve their goals.
