Daftarsbmptn.com – PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI) continues to strengthen the role of the Red and White Village/Sub-District Cooperatives (KDKMP) as a driver of the people’s economy through the AgenBRILink network, which reaches even the 3T (Frontier, Outermost, and Disadvantaged) regions. This synergy makes AgenBRILink a crucial link in expanding access to financial services and stimulating economic activity at the grassroots level.
Since its launch, AgenBRILink’s presence within KDKMP has enabled communities to easily conduct various financial transactions. Through its partnership with BRI, the cooperative has been able to create a sharing economy effect that encourages the growth of financial transactions and productive business activities at the community level. This program also contributes to expanding financial literacy and inclusion.
BRI President Director Hery Gunardi stated that the launch of KDKMP by President Prabowo carries a significant mission to strengthen the village economy, increase the purchasing power of local residents, create jobs, and expand access to financing for the community. These efforts align with the government’s third priority, namely strengthening the national economy based on village independence.
“We support the KDKMP by providing access to financial services that are truly close to the community. Through AgenBRILink, people can conduct transactions, save, and even develop their businesses through loan facilities. BRI believes that KDMP will be a milestone in strengthening the village economic ecosystem based on people-centeredness and mutual cooperation,” said Hery.
Furthermore, to support the KDMP ecosystem, BRI is optimizing the AgenBRILink network, which already covers most of Indonesia. Through this network, cooperatives can handle various financial transactions, such as cash deposits and withdrawals, top-ups, bill payments, and installments.
The existence of AgenBRILink makes financial services more accessible and inclusive. As is known, by September 2025, BRI, with approximately 1.2 million AgenBRILink throughout Indonesia, will be able to reach 66,648 villages, equivalent to 80% of the total villages in the country.
During the same period, AgenBRILink also facilitated 826 million financial transactions with a total volume of IDR 1,294 trillion, further strengthening its role as a driver of community financial activity at the grassroots level.
AgenBRILink not only serves daily transaction needs, but also acts as a bridge connecting the community to BRI savings and financing services.
Through referral services, agents can assist prospective customers with the process of opening new accounts (such as BSA Savings) and applying for business loans.
This extensive network ultimately serves as the backbone of BRI’s financial services distribution to remote areas of the country. Now, AgenBRILink has evolved into a social commerce hub that handles financial transactions and sustainably supports the economic activities and daily needs of rural communities.
In an effort to strengthen the rural economy and expand access to financial services, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI) continues to promote the development of village cooperatives through the BRILink Agent program. This initiative is expected to establish village cooperatives as the main hub for community economic activity, while simultaneously strengthening the foundation of a community-based local economy.
The BRILink Agent Program is an innovative branchless financial service that allows people in remote areas to conduct banking transactions through agents appointed by BRI. This concept makes banking services closer, easier, and more accessible to the public, especially in areas far from formal banking access.
Village Cooperatives Become the Backbone of the Local Economy
Village cooperatives have long been known as shared economic platforms that play a vital role in strengthening the community’s economy. However, many cooperatives face obstacles in terms of financial access, digitalization, and business networks. Through partnerships with BRILink Agents, village cooperatives now have greater opportunities to expand their services and strengthen their role as centers of the local economy.
BRI Network and Service Director, Andi Kartiko, stated that BRI is committed to strengthening the rural economic ecosystem by involving cooperatives as strategic partners.
“Cooperatives have great potential to become economic hubs at the village level. With the support of BRILink agents, cooperatives can provide financial services to their members and surrounding communities, while simultaneously developing their businesses more independently,” said Andi in an official statement.
According to him, this step aligns with BRI’s vision to continue developing a community-based, people-centered economy, where each village can become a center of economic growth through collaboration between financial institutions, cooperatives, and micro-enterprises.
Financial Services Closer to Residents
Through the BRILink Agent network, people no longer need to travel long distances to conduct transactions such as transfers, cash deposits, withdrawals, bill payments, and even purchase financial products like microinsurance. In many regions, village cooperatives that have partnered as BRILink Agents are also utilizing digital technology to serve customers with a faster and more transparent system.
One example of success can be seen in Kulon Progo Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, where the “Sejahtera Mandiri” cooperative officially became a BRILink Agent in the middle of last year. The cooperative’s chairman, Sutrisno, explained that this partnership has had a significant positive impact on its members.
“Before becoming a BRILink Agent, our members often had difficulty depositing or withdrawing money due to the distance to the bank. Now all transactions can be done at the cooperative. In fact, the cooperative’s turnover has almost doubled due to the large number of residents participating in transactions,” he said.
In addition to providing convenience for cooperative members, this collaboration has also created new jobs at the local level. Communities involved in managing these financial services earn additional income while improving financial literacy among villagers.
Digital Transformation Strengthens Cooperative Competitiveness
In recent years, BRI has continued to strengthen the digital transformation of its BRILink Agent network. Through the BRILink Mobile application, cooperatives can manage transactions more efficiently and securely. BRI also provides regular training and mentoring to ensure each cooperative is able to operate digital services optimally.
These training programs cover digital financial management, transaction security, digital literacy, and micro-enterprise development. The goal is not only to make village cooperatives an extension of BRI, but also to become independent, modern, and adaptive economic institutions to the changing times.
Furthermore, BRI is also working to integrate village cooperatives with the national digital economy ecosystem, such as e-commerce platforms and QRIS-based payment services. Thus, village cooperatives can serve not only conventional transactions but also become digital payment service centers at the local level.
BRI’s internal data shows that by the end of 2025, there will be more than 740,000 active BRILink Agents throughout Indonesia, with around 12% of them managed by village cooperatives. This number continues to increase annually as cooperatives increasingly want to join and take advantage of digital economic opportunities.
In addition to contributing to equitable financial services, this program has also been proven to increase money circulation in villages, strengthen local consumption, and reduce economic inequality between urban and rural areas. With more cooperatives transforming into BRILink Agents, it is hoped that the village economic ecosystem will become stronger, more productive, and more sustainable.
Future Direction: Cooperatives as New Growth Centers
Going forward, BRI is committed to continuing to expand partnerships with village cooperatives in various regions. Capacity building and digitalization programs will be a primary focus so that cooperatives can manage finances, investments, and public services more efficiently.
“We want cooperatives to not only be places for savings and loans, but to truly play a role as centers of the village economy. With the BRILink network, cooperatives can serve the community while simultaneously stimulating the real sector in their surroundings,” concluded Andi Kartiko.
With the synergy between BRI, cooperatives, and the community, villages in Indonesia now have a significant opportunity to grow into resilient, independent economic centers. The BRILink Agent Program is not only about financial services, but also about empowering village communities to become key actors in national economic development.
